One Week, And A Day!

Last night, my prophecy of Emma staying up all night came to fruition. I’m a regular Nostradamus. Oprah better start carving out time for her new baby whisperer. Michelle and I split duties, but I think she didn’t do a very good job of sharing on the late-late shift. She swore she did. Overall, I think we’re doing a pretty good job of splitting up the time. For now there, there is only so much I can do for a few of the shifts, until we get that pump rockin’.

We decided we aren’t going to talk about Emma’s “regular schedule” anymore. We’ll just keep writing it down and trying to keep to the schedule the Doctor recommended.

It’s amazing when you life changes to three hour blocks how your day can get away from you. Not that we sat around all day or anything, but it felt like today just totally got away from us. Michelle also just reminded me that we slept in a little, so I'm sure that was a lot of it as well.

Today we did a little baking and it was funny how different it was. A good kind of different of course, but Michelle and I kind of took turns doing the work until Emma fell asleep in her swing. We made some little treats for some of our friends for Christmas. We were going to head over there for a Christmas dinner, but the boys were sick.

We did decide however to head over there and I was going to head in to drop off the gifts. Michelle stayed out in the car with Emma. We wanted to at least say hey to everyone plus it was a great excuse to get us all out of the house. Emma sleeps great in the car, as I’m sure most babies do. I’m sure their Dad’s are drivers of the highest caliber as well.

It was great to see everyone. I don’t think we had seen the Wick’s house decorated for Christmas – it looked great. Charissa immediately put a plate of food together for us which was very, very nice. When we got in Jack was trying to get at his present but when he realized people were heading outside to see Emma, he got his camo coat and little Santa hat on – cute fella. The boys got to see Emma through the glass, which I’m sure, was funny to see as well. When I walked back outside to see how Chelle was doing all I could see was the backside of Deb and Michele in the front window. It was pretty funny. They were going put the boys to bed and invited us in but from the previous night, we were beat.
