The First Night

Silent Night, Holy Night. That song makes so much more sense now. Our first night with Emma wasn't exactly silent. The nurses told us she was probably going to want to feed every hour right at 48 hours. Since Emma was born at 11:30, we knew it probably was going to be rough. From about 9 to midnight that was the case. After that we tried to get her to sleep in her crib, but she wasn't having any of it. It was nice to hear from Tami and a few others that this is pretty normal. I'm sure it'll take a while until we figure all of it out. As Michelle's Dad said, this parenting thing has a steep learning curve.

The next day was alot of recovering on sleep and Chelle getting her rest. The Coltranes stopped by and brought dinner. We had just gotten Emma to sleep in her crib for the first time, which was a small miracle. The picture below shows her sleeping in it. Sorry you guys didn't get to see her again, but we appreciate dinner so very much! Thank you!
