I'm still in Sacramento for this database conference. I'm learning some good things. I think it would have been huge to go to this a few years ago, but so it goes. Good stuff nonetheless.
I did make a faux pas this am at breakfast and sat at a table (the rest were full) where two nerds were talking. Apparently they went way back, but I didn't know this because they weren't actually speaking to each other (or making eye contact). Everything worked out well as we ended breakfast with some nice verbal communication. Probably a nice change of pace.
Tonight we have some wine dinner. It is at an "urban" winery. It will be interesting to see what happens when nerds go wild.
Tomorrow I'm heading to SF for the JOH kick off stuff. It's always fun to see the next group of team members cross the GG Bridge and see some old friends. As fun as it is, I'm looking forward to getting back to Chelle and the Emster.
