Nerds - Unite!

So I am at an IT seminar today, so I thought I would get in the mindset of an IT guy with a live blog.

My first hour did not star well in breaking down stereotypes. The guy next to me didn't make eye contact for the first five minutes in which we spoke and proceeded to reach over my plate for salt and pepper. To strengthen my stereotype, he talked about his parents a lot. I picture a basement apt. with lots of video game systems and energy drink.

Then before my first session, the guy behind me was talking to this girl. His first question was about star wars. He then proceeded to fill her in on what she was missing. I'm guessing this is the biggest part, if not all of his game.

Now the opening session started with introductions of the 45 people in the room. No offense, but I didn't pay to hear about where your from or what your organization does. It took f-o-r-e-v-e-r.

This makes me appreciate that we've had good IT guys on our staff over the years. Anyway, this won't become a habit during the conference. To end on a positive note, I had In-N-Out Burger yesterday. I love that place.

...I know this pic is terrible, but so it goes. . .
