Our first night there Emma was already learning the Hessenius ways - making Mock Oysters for dinner! Yummy!!
Finally a visit with no rain! So we headed out to the beach. Emma really like playing in the sand and water. She sent grandma GG on many trips to the water to fill up her bucket. Then she started to run into the waves. They would knock her down, I'd pick her up and she'd do it all again.
GG and Emma calling the water up to them :-)
It worked!
I wasn't sure how meals would work out since I wasn't taking a high chair down there. But great grandpa was a sport and let Emma use his desk chair as her high chair. She loved being in the big chair at the table.

My uncle is the captain of a boat called Sure Thing. We went out and met him as they returned home from a trip and they had had a great day. Three very large King Mackerels cought - - the largest weighing 57lbs. And the boat was also full of red snapper, of course :-)
Back at the beach :-) The second day we headed out to the pass to play in the water. There are a lot less waves so Emma could get in the water and walk around - didn't have to worry about her getting knocked under and dragged out to sea. (Well, still the knocked under part :-)
The pass is my favorite place in Destin. But it was kind of ugly this visit as they were working on the bridge so they had a couple barges in the water. Makes us look like we were vacationing in the hudson river...
But look how cute she is with that chunky cheek hanging out - too funny!!
My grandparents neighborhood had built a great playground just down the street. Emma had a blast playing.
